Thomas Jefferson's favorite design source was Robert Morris'
Select Architecture (1751). With inspiration from this book, Jefferson designed many Palladian style homes similar to Little Mountain View. Originally built in the central mountain ranges of Virginia, this home commands a magnificent view from the back porch. Little Mountain View's stately front façade is equally adaptable to both town and country life.
